Thomas of Lancaster has often been viewed as a venerated saint. He is known for standing up to a king and paying for it with his life. He was executed here in sight of his great castle of Pontefract.
But is this all true – or is there a more sinister side to Thomas of Lancaster? Was he really trying to make Edward II a kinder king? Or was there an ulterior motive, and he was actually trying to steal the crown?
Join our wonderful volunteers in their first talk of 2025 to review the evidence, and provide answers to some key questions!
