About this Event
Join us at the historic Roberto Adobe & Sunol House Museum garden for a volunteer day dedicated to restoring locally native Santa Clara Valley plants and honoring Indigenous knowledge. Together, we’ll explore the foundations of gardening with locally native plants, the principles of ethnobotany, the importance of keystone species, practical ways to support pollinators and biodiversity, and how to take climate action!
Our garden lead will demonstate and guide volunteers through recommended techniques for weeding, planting, and mulching. We’ll begin with a tour of the garden, followed by demonstrations, share sandwiches approximately half way through, and conclude with an optional tour of the museum, which spans sovereign Indigenous American, Spanish, Mexican, and U.S. eras. We hope to see you there as we cultivate both community and care for living history.
Please email [email protected] if you have food restrictions, preferences, or any questions!
