Participants give a short, structured presentation with an introduction, demonstration, and conclusion, followed by judge questions. Presentations may be done individually or as a team of two, with time limits based on age division. Awards are offered for the top presenters in each division.
Impromptu Speech: Build quick‑thinking and public speaking skills by creating a short speech on a surprise topic. Youth draw a topic on contest day and have five minutes to prepare before presenting. Notes may be written on one provided notecard. Time limits vary by age, and top speakers receive awards.
Share & Tell (K–2nd Grade): A welcoming, beginner‑friendly class where youth share something they love and explain how it works or how to make it. Participants speak for 1–3 minutes, show their item, and answer questions from the judge. All participants receive a recognition award.
Video Presentation: Create a 60–90 second multimedia video around the 2026 theme “Untold Stories.” Submissions may be individual or group projects and must relate to Hood River County, 4‑H, or FFA. Youth can use phones, tablets, or computers to produce videos such as documentaries, promotional pieces, performances, animations, or short films. Judges evaluate content organization and technical production. Top videos in each age group receive awards and will be posted on the 4‑H webpage. Videos are due by April 4.
