About this Event
Join us at Safari Treasures, a locally owned boutique in Centerville, for an inspiring cultural experience centered on craftsmanship, connection, and community.
Owner Sandra Simi will share her personal journeys sourcing handcrafted baskets and home décor from artisans in Africa, India, and South America. Through stories and vivid examples, Sandra will highlight the generations of skilled weavers she has met, the family traditions lovingly passed down over time, and the natural materials—grasses, reeds, fibers, and dyes—used to create each unique piece.
This program embraces the theme “Weaving Communities Together.” Participants will gain a deeper appreciation for the artistry, cultural heritage, and diversity behind handmade baskets from around the world. By exploring how different cultures express identity and history through craft, attendees will be reminded that every culture matters and that understanding diverse traditions strengthens our shared community.
Come ready to listen, learn, and celebrate the beauty of global craftsmanship and cultural connection. Following the presentation, enjoy networking while perusing the one-of-a-kind woven baskets and custom handbags designed to elevate your home décor. A group photo will be taken for those who wish to participate and light snacks will be available.
