A Free Community Workshop & Performance Series

Hosted by Mari G. | Founder of Black Night Market | Singer & Tacomas Poet Laureate

Join us for Voices Affirmed — a four-part series of creative, healing-centered events rooted in poetry, music, and affirmations. This series is part of The Affirmation Junkie EP project, a collection of songs and spoken word pieces centered on empowerment, healing, and radical self-love. Each event is designed to uplift and connect Tacoma’s diverse community through intentional creativity, vulnerability, and voice. This series of events and EP project is fully supported by Tacoma Arts Initiative Project through the City of Tacoma.

🔹 We've hosted two sessions already and dates were postponed and moved to a new location.



🔹 Event 3: Affirmation Creative Workshop #3

Saturday, March 21 2026 | Campfire Coffee Co.

Continue the creative journey with new prompts, Through guided prompts and open creation time, we’ll write, reflect, and make affirming art together. We will write creative and affirming poems with mixed media art , all artwork can be displayed in the art gallery at Event 4.



✍🏾 WHAT TO BRING:

Bring any materials you love creating with!

Suggested supplies include:

  • Pen or pencil
  • Paper or journal
  • Markers, crayons, colored pencils
  • Paint & paintbrushes
  • Collage supplies (magazines, scissors, glue)
  • Canvas or canvas paper

Some supplies will be included, so we advise to bring what you like to use!

All art created in the workshops can be displayed at the final community art gallery in June 2026! You’re welcome to create during the sessions or bring completed work with you.

All events are FREE and open to the public. RSVP is strongly encouraged to help us prepare materials and space for all participants.
