About this Event
Voicing your chakras through the interplay of bazantar and butoh is a unique and transcendent experience that combines sound and movement to align and harmonize your energy centers. The bazantar, an innovative instrument blending elements of the sitar, bass, and cello, produces resonant, rich tones that can deeply penetrate and stimulate the chakras. When played with intention, its vibrations can help clear blockages and promote energetic flow.
Simultaneously, butoh, the avant-garde Japanese dance form, provides a physical medium to express and release raw emotions and energies associated with each chakra. This dance form emphasizes slow, deliberate movements, allowing practitioners to explore and embody the subtle energies within them.
What to Expect:
In this sound healing, we will integrate the soulful vibrations of the bazantar with the raw expressiveness of butoh, and create an experience of individual and collective empowerment, by focusing our physical, emotional and spiritual energies into the NOW.
As a participant, you can choose to engage actively as a vocalist and/or dancer, exploring the healing potential of your own voice and movement, or simply sit back and absorb the healing vibrations as a listener. Whether in stillness or movement, silence or sound, you will be encouraged to relax and breathe.
About the Performers:
- is a Ukranian-Russian multi disciplinary artist, dancer, tantrica and musician. She is an ordained Zen Buddhist and a channel of Divine Feminine.
- : A master of sound and music, Mark blends his expertise in sacred systems and non-linear mathematics with a deep understanding of world music. His performances are often described as healing and sometimes exorcistic, with a blend of jazz, Indian classical, and avant-garde influences. He has worked on notable projects like Apple TV’s Prehistoric Planet and the award-winning documentary Nocturnes.
- Martha Matsuda: A veteran of the Butoh movement, Martha’s performances tap into the raw, emotive power of this Japanese theater form. With decades of experience, she continues to push the boundaries of Butoh, fusing it with the haunting soundscapes created by Mark on the Bazantar.
