In our ongoing collaboration with Emerging Black Composer's Project, supported by the NEA, we present Nathaniel Heyder's World Premiere for chamber orchestra. In our NEW collaboration with the Klein String Competition, we're thrilled to introduce Pearl de la Motte, winner of the 2024 competition. She'll perform one of the dynamic concerto for viola by Bela Bartók in an orchestral arrangement made especially for the SFCO and Ms. de la Motte. Beginning the program is "The Hebrides" Overture by Felix Mendelssohn. He was 21 when he composed this sea-inspired overture. A youngster for sure but well on his path to great stardom!
