To mark the anniversary of Victory over Japan (VJ) Day, a sunset vigil will take place at Priory Road Cemetery on Friday 15 August.The event will begin at 7.30pm and will include a short reflection and the lighting of a commemorative candle. Members of the public are then invited to lay candles at the Commonwealth War Graves located throughout the cemetery, in remembrance of those who served and sacrificed.
Please note:
Paths within the cemetery are uneven and may be difficult to navigate in low light.
There are no toilet facilities on site.
We recommend bringing a torch or phone light for safety.
All are welcome to attend.
