Join us in exploring the whimsical world of automata. What is automata, you ask? It is a self controlled mechanism that follows a sequence of movements. Come work your hands and hack a self-assembled cardboard base structure that functions as a creative springboard that will help you design and construct your very own kinetic sculpture.
Participants can access our library of upcycled materials to personalise their piece too. Are you a storyteller? Tell a story. A music composer? Create a musical tune. An anime fan? Recreate the character with its signature movement. See the endless possibilities come to life with a crank of a handle. This is designed to be friendly enough for beginners, yet with more challenging options for those who are more advanced.
While we have a range of samples provided for inspiration, participants are highly encouraged to come up with their own unique creations. Note: All materials will be provided and participants can bring their creations back. Participants can bring a little toy or knick knack if they want to use it as a prop for their automata.
*All proceeds contribute to Vivita's mission as a charity. Every dollar goes towards empowering children from all backgrounds with creative confidence to create their future! Participants are entitled to a free tour of our creative makerspace at the end of the session. :)

Every month, we offer interactive activities and themes to allow the participants explore their creativity, learn new skills, and connect with like-minded people.
