About this Event
This event invites people to gather a multimedia event featuring a staged reading of scenes from the full-length script - Vito's Last Penance: The Vindication of Vito Marcantonio - by Roberto Ragone.
Interspersed will be two film shorts:
1) Vito Marcantonio: Synopsis of a Large Life by the Vito Marcantonio Forum
2) The Final Covenant of Vito Marcantonio by Roberto Ragone
Historical figures appearing in the readings include: Congressman Vito Marcantonio, Wife and Social Activist Miriam Sanders Marcantonio, Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia, Civil Rights Leader Dr. WEB Dubois, Mayor Bill O'Dwyer, Gangster Frank Costello, and Gangster Tommy Lucchese.
The goal is to raise awarenes that efforts will be made to raise money for the film version of The Purgatory Trial of Vito Marcantonio by Roberto Ragone after a successful run as a legitimate, Equity-sanctioned, Off-Broadway one-man play. The film version will employ special effects (SFX) and computer-generated images (CGI) to raise the production value of Marcantonio's historical journey to people, places, and events.
