Bio of our guest:
Gatinho Angola is a capoeira player born in French Guiana who currently lives in Marseille. He learned from Mestre Camaleão in 2002. For him, capoeira is a way of life and part of his daily life. From then on, he built his life around his passion. He teaches in Marseille and participates in different projects with children with disabilities (motor, mental, visual).
In 2013, he created the European Connection of Capoeira Angola (CECA) in reference to the first name of Europe (European Coal and Steel Community) and the name of Mestre Pastinha's group (Capoeira Angola Sports Course).
The goal is to create real bridges between Brazil (origin), Africa, the central continent of Afro culture, the cradle of the world, and Europe, which represents the global expansion of capoeira. These bridges aim to raise awareness among European capoeira players about all Brazilian and Afro culture, thus allowing it to be approached in its entirety and richness, not being considered just as a sport.
