‘VISIONS VIRTUOSIC’
Virtuosos need to be poets as well as performers on the high wire, at the edge of what’s humanly possible. Julian’s also bringing verse, rhythm, nuance and beauty, in music of multiple vision, purpose and expression.
You thought Lang Lang and Yuja Wang were the daring ones? (or Marc-André Hamelin, or Bruce Liu?) Then meet Julian Chan! By the time he’s with us on 24 May, he’ll have played Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No 3 and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No 2 with Worthing’s marvellous two orchestras, the Philharmonic in 2024 and the Symphony in 2026.
