Entertainment Experience Recording Sessions
We are hosting the final Vision to Victory (V2V) Entertainment Experience weekend for the year in Vancouver, Washington. This workshop – led by Amerability – will focus on recording a group song and participants can create their own demo mixes that they may have the opportunity to showcase with the EQ Record label. The V2V Vancouver weekend will feature three industry specialists including a music producer, performer, and drama teacher.
Workshop Content
• Experience working with EQ Record label, recording your own demo with professional music producers.
• Learning the career opportunities within the Entertainment industry.
• Activities will include an overview of the industry, presentations by each participant to build confidence in interviewing, networking and postproduction for industry placement.
• Strong focus on assistive technology with CATT Technologies as our partner related to the Entertainment industry, focusing on specific pieces of everyday equipment used in music production and content editing.
Students can choose from one of four transition pathways.
1. Further post-secondary study to earn a degree or credential.
2. Choose to start your own business and be an entrepreneur.
3. Enter the workforce within this industry and gain further work experience.
4. Take time after high school to gain valuable life experience through a program such as LIFTT or DSB’s Orientation & Training Center.
Workshop/Program Highlights
• Record your own demo with a music producer
• Learn the entertainment industry engagement strategies and networking.
• Build self-confidence through presentation and collaboration education sessions.
• Work with industry professionals who can increase skill acquisition to increase likelihood of hiring.
• Collaborate with the entire student group and professional coaches on music production.
• Establish a specific transition pathway and work with staff to support progression to goals.
About the instructors
Amerability
Amerability is an experienced contractor to students across Washington through DSB. Staff possess lived experience with a strong understanding of what it means to be Blind and Low Vision. Our Entertainment Industry professionals encourage students to achieve their goals through study, employment and entrepreneurship, and by supporting goals to actions while offering mentoring and coaching.

Northwest Center for Assistive Technology Training (CATT-NW)
The Northwest Center for Assistive Technology Training (CATT-NW) Program is a collaboration between the American Printing House for the Blind (APH), the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) and the Washington State School for the Blind (WSSB).
Their mission is to provide assistive technology training to teachers of blind/low vision children, utilizing a "train the trainer" model, while also providing support/training for other professionals working with blind or low vision children as well as parents/caregivers of a child who is blind or has low vision, including those with additional disabilities.

WHO
This weekend is ideal for students who are Blind, Deaf-Blind, or Low Vision, between the ages of 14 and 21, who are active participants of DSB VR and Pre-ETS Services.
To apply for this weekend workshop, Blind, Deaf-Blind, or Low Vision students need to be:
• Current Washington State residents
• Enrolled in a Vocational Rehabilitation plan with Department of Services for the Blind
• Between 14-21 years old

COST
FREE! This workshop is free to DSB participants ages 14 – 21 with active VR cases, and who are qualified for Pre-ETS Services.
All transportation, lodging and food costs are paid for and arranged by DSB. All activities are also free for all V2V weekend participants.

Space is limited! Only 12 places are available so register early.
Interested students must apply online by Monday, April 14, 2025. A parent or guardian is welcome to travel with their student to the workshop, but programming may only be attended by students.
