Join us for a fun and interactive event tailored for the blind and visually impaired community! At Vision Connection, we will be showcasing a variety of adaptive sports and activities that are accessible to everyone. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just looking to try something new, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. Participating Organizations:
Achieve Tahoe provides year-round outdoor recreation activities for people with cognitive, sensory, and physical disabilities.
Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors (BAADS) offers weekly small boat and keelboat sailing, as well as racing, to people with disabilities and their friends and families. Based in South Beach Harbor in San Francisco.
BORP (Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program) Adaptive Sports & Recreation empowers individuals with mobility disabilities and visual impairments through adaptive athletic and outdoor programs.
Environmental Traveling Companions (ETC) opens the world of outdoor adventure to people with disabilities and youth from under-resourced backgrounds.
ParaCliff Hangers expands the rock climbing community to include people with disabilities.
Chris Jeckel from Touching the Sky — a Documentary. This documentary follows a blind man as he rediscovers a sense of play through acroyoga.
United in Stride connects blind and low-vision individuals with guides for outdoor activities.
Vista Center offers several different health and adaptive fitness classes including chair exercise, tai chi, yoga, and community walks/hikes.
