About this Event
California may be the home of Silicon Valley and the birthplace of many innovative technologies, but as the biggest state (by population) and the fifth-largest economy in the world (more than 14% of U.S. Gross Domestic Product), it faces nation-sized challenges. The human issues include everything from making health care and insurance more affordable to investing in expanded internet access, to name just two.
The state government has embarked on an ambitious plan to use technology to meet its social and economic goals, and to make progress on the complex problems it faces, by providing digital services – and access to those service – to all its residents, building in dependability and resilience for its services and technology infrastructure, and modernizing legacy infrastructure, to name a few.
Join us as thought leaders from government and industry outline where they see progress, the role of technology in meeting the needs of residents and government workers alike, and where innovative solutions are making a day-to-day difference.
Learning Objectives:
- Review the state government’s priorities and how using technology can help agencies meet them
- Outline the parameters of California’s digital government plans and the status of projects to fulfill them, including modernization of legacy systems
- Delineate the metrics being used to measure improvements for residents’ lives and agency employees’ working environment
