About this Event
Join us on Saturday 4th November 11 am-1.30 pm at The Styling Bank, Studio 28, Crawley Road Studios, N22 6AG for a class where you'll learn the basic techniques of woven darning, including how to reinforce worn areas and repair holes or cover stains. You'll also learn about the different types of yarn and needles that are best for each material, and ways to play with colour and shape so that your mends are beautiful as well as functional.
All materials provided, including darning mushrooms, thread, needles, fabric to practise on and a take-home sheet that covers everything taught on the day, ensuring you are confident to carry on with your repair work beyond the class. However please feel free to bring your own garments to work on also - you'll be learning techniques for items such as jeans, shirts & t-shirts, socks, sweaters and jumpers. Socks are a great place to start...
This is a beginner-friendly class; no sewing experience is necessary, but experienced sewers are also welcome!
The class is limited to 10 places
Tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.
