About this Event
If you've taken a previous lab or used elements of the Harwood approach in your work, Unleashing Impact is the next step to becoming that much more effective. It will help you further unleash a chain reaction of actions that addresses societal fault lines and strengthens the civic culture of communities so that we can create impact and grow civic faith.
The Unleashing Impact Lab is centered on helping you discover new ways to publicly think and act. You'll learn directly from Rich Harwood, creator of the transformative Harwood approach which has spread to all 50 U.S. states and 40 countries around the world. Rich will guide you through five weekly online sessions to help you accelerate your impact.
Below are short descriptions that summarize the focus on each of session:
Session 1 - Unleash a Chain Reaction: As a public innovator, you’ll take a closer look at the chain reaction—how your actions can unleash it and how you can make intentional choices about who to run with to further grow and spread it in your community.
Session 2 - Grow Civic Culture: As a public innovator, you’ll examine how the actions you take must address people’s shared aspirations and concerns and grow your community’s civic culture—the capacities, relationships, networks, and norms that enable your community to work effectively.
Session 3 - Engage in Civic Learning: As a public innovator, you’ll develop new ways to engage in ongoing learning and innovation so that you can continually recalibrate your efforts based on what you and others are learning about the community and your shared work.
Session 4 - How You Show Up: As a public innovator, you’ll explore in-depth how you show up for yourself and others by becoming more intentional in being Turned Outward in your work and life.
Session 5 - Stay Grounded to Lift Off: As a public innovator, you’ll learn how you and those you are working with can remain grounded in the Turning Outward practice so you can accelerate progress, build momentum, and make your efforts sustainable.
