Quilting is not only a creative artform, but a practical craft and artform with rich traditions from around the world. Utilize the tools and techniques specific to quilting, from learning "quilt math" to rotary cutting and piecing techniques. Learn how to adding sashing and borders, as well as how to baste your quilt “sandwich” in preparation for quilting. Explore traditional quilting and how it can inform contemporary practice.
This is a project-based class, designed to teach the fundamental skills of quilting. Most of the work will be done on a domestic sewing machine.
