About this Event
Changes in fertility can increase emotional and physical stress, which can potentially complicate conception. The experience of infertility is felt by both members of couples who wish to become parents. The increased stress of this state may result in communication breakdowns, intimacy difficulties, and increased conflict in the romantic relationship. Couples engaging with these issues--as well as undergoing fertility treatments -may benefit from additional support from others experiencing similar challenges.
A support group can be most beneficial at certain points of the infertility experience:
1. When faced with making a difficult decision
2. When dealing with a major loss
3. When considering alternatives to fertility treatment
This is a 4-week series support group for non-pregnant couples managing infertility-related concerns. This group seeks to provide a safe space to share emotions as well as receive support and education about infertility. The weekly sessions will cover the following topics: Impact of Infertility on a couple and improving communication; Stress reduction, self-care, and managing anxiety and/or depression; Navigating the ups and downs (e.g. mindfulness meditation); Finding Peace in the Unknown.
$25 per session for a total of 4 sessions.
Sessions will be virtual and will take place on Thursdays from 4pm-5pm. The group is closed 24 hours before the start of 1st session.
