Virginia Beach Green Drinks is BACK! Join us for a night of networking, idea sharing, and getting to know others who are working in or interested in the environment. Virginia Beach Green Drinks will meet once a month on second WINDdays at a different local and/or Virginia Green Certified and/or Pearl Business each month. This month, our guest speaker is JDog Junk Removal & Hauling. They remove junk and unwanted items from homes and business—everything from old mattresses to scrap metal. Here's the green/sustainable part: They recycle and donate up to 60% to 80% of the junk they haul to keep as much out of the landfill as possible! We're going to learn all about it!
So meet us at Commonwealth Brewing Company on May 10th at 5:30pm, grab a brew and lets talk environmental stuff!
What is Green Drinks?
Green Drinks is an International Event! Every month people who work in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks.
We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Come along and you'll be made welcome. Just say, "are you green?" and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It's a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organizing network.
These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. It's a force for the good and we'd like to help it spread to other cities.
