Carpenter Square Theatre (CST) continues Season 42 with the gripping historical drama Violet Sharp by William Cameron, the sixth production of the season. All performances take place on the Inasmuch Foundation Stage at Carpenter Square Theatre, west of downtown Oklahoma City at 1009 W. Reno.Based on the true story surrounding the infamous 1932 Lindbergh kidnapping case, Violet Sharp examines the tragic personal story behind one of America’s most sensational crimes. The play centers on Violet Sharp, a young British maid working in the home of Anne Lindbergh’s mother, who suddenly finds herself under suspicion during the investigation into the kidnapping of Charles Lindbergh’s infant son.
As police scrutiny intensifies, Violet’s conflicting statements about her whereabouts place her at the center of the investigation. Pressured by relentless questioning and haunted by her own private struggles, Violet attempts to clear her name as suspicion and media attention continue to grow. The drama explores themes of truth, reputation, and the devastating impact of public scrutiny on an ordinary person caught in extraordinary circumstances.
William Cameron’s compelling drama blends historical research with powerful storytelling to examine the human cost of fame, media sensationalism, and the search for justice. Violet Sharp offers audiences a haunting look at the consequences of suspicion and the fragile nature of truth in the court of public opinion.
Terry Veal directs a cast of talented metro-area performers led by Tristan O'Hara, Kelsey Fisher-Waits, Shawn Witcher, Gabrielle Baker, Sean Spencer, Craig Musser, C. W. Bardsher, and Tyler Waits, who bring this gripping true story to life. Jayvion Frazier is this production’s stage manager.
