On 4th July, the superb setting of Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire transforms once again into a recreation of a pre-war car event. With over 100 pre-war cars and motorbikes assembled and taking turns to drive down the track, the Vintage Speed Trials recreate the sights and sounds of the many events that were held across the country as drivers explored the capabilities of their vehicles. With bales, picket fences and canvas marquees and a smattering of vintage attire, the castle could be back in the early 1900s when it was used for some of the earliest motoring events in the country. There is also a display of vehicles in the impressive Vanburgh courtyard (some places still available), a live Jazz band and food, coffee and tea stalls adding to the atmosphere.
