Vintage, pre-loved, the clothing of bygone eras: it has an attraction to many and in the last few years second hand or pre-loved stores pop up in great numbers. People are aware of the polluting clothing industry and more often make a conscious choice to buy second hand. But what is on sale varies greatly in time period and style. How to obtain that specific gracious look of the first half of the 20th century? How to get an haute-couture look that was in vogue till the 60s? Come to this lecture to discover the fashion developments of the first half of the 20th century and check out our vintage items to complete your look. Your pre-loved clothing does not have to be 100 years old, but by knowing the style you can make excellent style choices for your new vintage look. Fashion historian Martine Teunissen will show you vintage fashion, including her own creations inspired by the 20s-50s period, some of them are for sale. Maria Choustova and other sellers will offer you the possibility to buy their pre-loved items.

Vintage, ‘pre-loved’, de kleding van weleer: het trekt velen aan; en in de laatste jaren zijn er veel vintage of tweedehands kledingwinkels bij gekomen. Men is zich meer bewust van de vervuilende kledingindustrie en men maakt vaak meer bewuste keuzes door tweedehands te kopen. Maar al die verschillende winkels bieden een grote verscheidenheid in stijl en tijdsperiode. How krijg je nou die gracieuze ‘look’ uit de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw? Hoe zet je een haute-couture look neer die in de mode was tot en met de jaren ’60. Kom naar de lezing en ontdek de mode-ontwikkelingen van de eerste helft van de 20e eeuw en kom tevens naar onze vintage sale om een prachtige outfit uit te kiezen. Onze pre-loved items zijn wellicht geen 100 jaar oud, maar door de stijl te leren kennen kun je goede keuzes maken voor je nieuwe vintage look. Kostuumhistorica Martine Teunissen zal je kennis laten maken met de vintage mode, inclusief haar eigen creaties die geïnspireerd zijn op de jaren ’20-’50, waarvan enkele items te koop zijn. Maria Choustova en andere verkopers bieden je de mogelijkheid om hun pre-loved items te kopen.
