About this Event
If you love anything vintage or retro this workshop is for you - using just old paper materials, you'll learn how to create your own piece of collage art and take home a finished piece of work.
You鈥檒l be shown how to:
- Work with different old paper materials such as vintage books, magazines etc. (There will be all sorts of themes such as old national geographics, childrens comics, fashion magazines, kitschy cook books and so on.)
- How to make an image selection for your own piece
- How to construct a collage so it becomes one cohesive piece of art
- Different layering techniques and collage tips
What exactly will we do?
We'll be making a piece of art from papers - maybe you want to keep it yourself, maybe you're making it for a lovely friend or family member. You can bring your personal pictures if you'd like to include these in your piece.
What's included?
- 2 hours of full guidance with sourcing images, cutting, puzzle'ing and creating your artwork
- All the available vintage paper materials for you to make your collage with
- You'll get a white picture mount to frame your artwork and take it home in! (choice between 2 sizes)
- A hot drink from the bar at Douce (they will also sell delicious pastries in case you get hungry!)
- A take home collage flyer full of tips & tricks
Location
The workshop is at the lovely concept store & salon Douce - based in Eddington, just outside of Cambridge city centre.
Please bring a bag with you that can hold an A3 size artwork! (any tote bag or supermarket plastic bag would work).
