Juany Moonlight Ninja and The Social Hub Vienna invites you to "VIENN-HA BALLROOM ARENA" - a ballroom practice function, a safe(r) space to practice before walking a ball, try new categories, or simply have fun. It is NOT A BALL!
As the city warms up for Pride Month, we open the floor for a night that honors history, resilience, and chosen family.
“Friends of Dorothy” is more than a phrase - it’s a code, a whisper from a time when queer identities had to exist in coded language. From the 1940s through the 1960s, LGBTQ+ people used it to recognize one another in a world that often refused to see them. Decades later, even institutions misunderstood its power - famously launching an investigation to find a nonexistent “Dorothy,” believed to be the leader of a hidden queer network.This night reclaims that story.
Vienn-Ha Ballroom Arena invites you to step into a space where visibility is power, expression is survival, and ballroom becomes both sanctuary and stage. We celebrate the legacy of those who came before us. And the brilliance of those who carry it forward.Expect a kickoff that sets the tone for Pride Month the way only ballroom can.Get inspired by some friends of Dorothy.
Because every Friend of Dorothy deserves their moment in the spotlight.

Ballroom is a culture founded by and for Trans BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and other people of color), in response to enduring systems of racism, colorism, misogyny, queerphobia, and transphobia.It exists as a space of survival and resistance for those impacted by these conditions. Entering a Ballroom-organized space comes with the responsibility to respect these roots and uphold its values; therefore, discriminatory or harmful behavior of any kind will not be tolerated.
