Willimantic, CT – Students at EASTCONN’s Arts at the Capitol Theater (ACT) magnet high school in Willimantic are excited to showcase their work at VideoFest on Thursday, January 22nd at 6:00p.m. VideoFest features student-created short films, stop animations, and more from ACT’s Media Arts classes. This event is free to attend, but if you'd like to support our digital arts programing at ACT, a basket will be available in the lobby for donations. All funds received directly support our Media Arts department.
Media Arts is one of seven arts disciplines offered at ACT; other pathways include Acting, Dance, Creative Writing, Integrated Arts & Management, Media Arts, Music and Technical Theater (sets, lighting and costuming). Media Arts students study audio production, Photoshop, animation, video game design, and music editing/creation through GarageBand. Each year, ACT Media Arts students are recognized in regional and national contests, including the DMV-Travelers Insurance Teen Safe Driving Video Contest.
Housed in Willimantic’s historic Capitol Theater, ACT enrolls students from eastern Connecticut in its NEASC-accredited, interdisciplinary and arts-infused academic program.
