Over 80 books and magazines including deluxe books; panels showing the creative process of the most celebrated of his book designs; over 20 cultural posters; and catalogues of various cultural events will be on display along with 20 annual calendars on the theme of Letterforms from the Japanese typesetting company ‘Sha-ken’. The exhibition is an opportunity to see the best in book design in the world; and also to understand the creative process behind the designs. Movies explaining the thought process in designing the books will also be shown along with a large screen interactive presentation of Sugiura Design Archive of the Musashino Art University Museum, where the viewers will be able to browse through the entire collection of Sugiura books. Prof Kirti Trivedi, the curator of the exhibition, will give an illustrated talk on the design methodology of Kohei Sugiura, at the inauguration of the exhibition.
