timeline:
6 to 7 PM -- load-in, set-up, and sound check
7 to 9 PM -- music jam session
9 PM to close -- load-out and hang-out with fellow musicians
what we have:
- an electronic drum set
- a bass and bass amp
- microphones and mic stands
- the house's microphones and mic stands
- the house's mixer and PA system (including monitors)
- the house's projector, to show lead sheets (chords / lyrics) like from vgleadsheets.com
what you should bring:
- your own instrument(s) and cables
- your appetite for Taphouse's food and drinks (pay as you go)
- a music stand (optional)
- a smartphone or tablet PC (optional) to view lead sheets
If you don't feel like playing an instrument, then just bring yourself (and some friends). The event is open to musicians of all skill levels, even music students. And open to all instruments, even orchestral ones. Brass instruments are encouraged to used mutes.
cost: FREE to attend; no cover charge
parking: free -- there is a small parking lot, and also street parking all around the block
note: your gear is your responsibility -- please avoid leaving items unattended; also, this event might be recorded and / or video streamed (but you can ask to not be recorded)
