About this Event

**This cohort is for Veterans, Military, and Spouses . **

VetsinTech has partnered with a leading Security+ Training provider to offer a five-day hands-on Security+ Bootcamp and we will include the Sec+ Certification Exams to be done on the 5th day of the Bootcamp. The VetsinTech Security+ Boot Camp is open to all service members, military veterans, and spouses interested in going into the field of Cybersecurity, even those with little to no background in the field. That is why we give you online access to foundational training in A+ and Net+ to complete prior to starting the Sec+ course

This course includes the Sec+ certification exam voucher for those that attend each live session and complete the prerequisite work. You must be able to allocate a minimum of 40 hours to complete all of the A+ and/or Net+ training that we will give you online access before completing Sec+ prestudy that accompanies the 5-day Bootcamp.

What is your veteran or military connection status (mil-spouse, still-serving, or post-service veteran)
How much time do you have to dedicate to your learning path each week, outside of the stated class hours?
Do you have any previous obligations that would prevent you from attending at least three sessions per week?

After approval (3-5 business days), complete this Eventbrite Registration

Registration Requirements: (please follow the steps one by one)

MUST be Active Duty, Trainsitioning Veteran, Separated Veteran, or Spouse of one of these
MUST have an active account at
MUST have validated through the at the website above
MUST commit to attending the Orientation and all daily sessions. Orientation will be held the week prior to the course beginning. This Orientation will be at 9AM Pacific on February 29th. Details will be shared upon acceptance into the course.
MUST have a Github (or similar) version control account

Orientation for this event will be on April 25th at 9AM Pacific, 12PM Eastern. All students are required to attend orientation unless contacting the ViT Education Coordinator at [email protected]

Required:

Must have a working computer with Zoom installed.

Please be prepared to have cameras on during class, and to be intereactive in the video chat & Slack. We highly recommend using a second monitor so that you can be watching the instructor on one screen and completing activities on the other. (This is important for the purpose of becoming proficient and efficient with the programming).

Course Outline:

Prerequisites: A+ material and Network+ material will be provided for the students. These MUST be completed prior to the start of the live sessions.
1 week of live training through Zoom and Canvas LMS

The course will be taught by an experienced IT professional who is certified in all of the covered exams.
