An informational meeting will be held for veterans interested in receiving a rescue dog companion animal from Veteran Companion Animal Services (VCAS). VCAS' Dog Placement Program is based on the Human Animal Bond which creates a mutually beneficial relationship that provides physical, psychological, and physiological benefits. Learn about VCAS' placement process which often places a dog within six months of application. VCAS is a non-profit that gives rescue dogs to veterans for companionship. The expenses of the adoption, placement supplies, seven weeks of dog training, and the first year of food and veterinary care are included in the program. Attendance at this meeting is necessary to receive a dog. For more information call 614-918-8221, email [email protected] or [email protected]
The meeting will go over our process and procedures.
Attendance at this meeting is required to receive a dog. The meeting may also be attended by veterans who wish to learn more about the program, but may not be ready to receive a dog just yet. Friends or family members are welcome to attend with the veteran. We will be able to assist the veteran with filling out the application at the meeting, if they wish. This meeting is open to the public and can be attended by any veterans who would like a dog.
