ABOUT FACE: Veterans Against the War South Texas invites you to our second Veterans' Resistance Art Gallery titled Veterans Voce here in the city of San Antonio, also known as "Military City U.S.A.". In this time of war, genocide and constant aggression abroad and here at home it is vital for veterans to share their experiences in an effort to educate the working class- that fights in ruling class/rich man's wars - that there is a way out and that there is a path to peace which necessitates unity and shedding of the pro-war propaganda we are constantly fed by mainstream media and politicians. We hope that you come share some time with us as this Armistice Day we recommit ourselves to fighting for peace. Art as Expression
Veterans often struggle to convey the complex emotions and experiences of war. Art provides a vital outlet for self-expression, allowing veterans to process trauma and share their stories in profound ways. Through various mediums, from paintings to sculptures, veterans can communicate what words alone cannot capture.
The Power of Dissident Art
This exhibition focuses on dissident art created by veterans who found themselves at odds with the conflicts they were involved in. These brave individuals used their creativity to challenge the status quo and speak out against injustices they witnessed. Their work serves as a testament to the moral courage required to question authority and stand up for one's beliefs, even in the face of adversity.
