About this Event
Join Certified Sommelier, Barbie Messa, as she explores Iberian Wine, including mainland Spain, Portugal, and their surrounding islands. We'll discuss the most famous classic regions, such as Rioja and Porto, and up-and-coming areas like the Canary Islands. After learning about these regions' history, geography, and grapes, we will have the opportunity to taste three wines in the final class.
This class will meet on Wednesday, June 5-July 3, from 1:30-3 pm
(Note: class will not meet on June 19th in honor of the Juneteenth holiday when the library will be closed).
The class will meet in the Brooks Program Room, located on the main level, around the corner from the library shop.
Note: It is expected participants can attend all four sessions. There is a fee of $50 for this program, which covers registration and materials fees for all sessions. Participants must be age 21 or older.
About our Verso University instructor:
Barbie Messa earned a doctorate in cognitive psychology from Columbia University before embarking on her sommelier career. She went from teaching and studying memory to educating guests and restaurant staff about wine in award-winning wine programs such as Blue Hill at Stone Barns and Glenmere Mansion.
