Clarity of purpose and a commitment to honest songwriting have defined Verses since their early days in Brighton’s rock scene. Emerging in the mid-2000s, the band steadily carved out a sound that balanced driving riffs with soaring melodies, bringing both grit and accessibility to a scene crowded with imitators. Through years of relentless touring, Verses earned their reputation as a band that thrived onstage, connecting with audiences through anthems that turned everyday struggles into songs of hope and resilience.
Their debut album, Feel It Faster (2014), recorded with producer Romesh Dodangoda, showcased this balance in full. Tracks like At The Roadside and Live In The Sky captured the immediacy of their live set, while appearances at Slam Dunk, 2000 Trees, and Download Festival confirmed their ability to translate that energy to larger stages. When the band brought their first chapter to a close in 2016, it was with the single Set Each Other Free—a fitting reminder of the optimism and drive that had carried them from Brighton clubs to festival fields.
Now, a decade later, Verses return in 2026 for a special one-off hometown show. The time away has given the band space to reflect, refocus, and rediscover the freedom that first brought them together. Rooted in the same melody and power that defined their debut, this reunion carries the weight of experience, offering new depth to both their writing and performance.
For Verses, it has always been about more than songs or shows—it’s about connection. This one-night return isn’t a repeat of the past, but a celebration of everything the band has stood for: conviction, positivity, and the shared energy between band and audience. Brighton will be the place where it all comes together once more.
