Inspirée par les images de Mars transmises par l’astromobile Perseverance en 2021, Catherine Bolduc imagine, dans une démarche autofictionnelle, le voyage d’une femme sur la planète rouge. Dans ces visions où réalité et fiction se confondent, les territoires cosmiques s’entrelacent avec ses paysages intérieurs, ouvrant une méditation poétique sur la précarité du vivant.
𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒂 𝑩𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒖
S’inspirant des dynamiques de croissance et de prolifération du vivant, Alissa Bilodeau déploie, dans cette nouvelle série d’œuvres textiles, une morphogenèse spéculative et inventive. Ses explorations formelles prennent la forme d’organismes biomorphiques qui semblent tout droit sortis d’une planète lointaine. Poreuses et ponctuées de structures coniques, ces entités fantaisistes évoquent tantôt des formations géologiques tantôt des réseaux d’hyphes fongiques en croissance.

Inspired by images of Mars transmitted by the Perseverance rover in 2021, Catherine Bolduc imagines, through an autofictional approach, the journey of a woman to the Red Planet. In these visions - where reality and fiction intertwine - cosmic territories merge with inner landscapes, opening onto a poetic meditation on the fragility of living systems.
𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒂 𝑩𝒊𝒍𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒖
Drawing inspiration from the dynamics of growth and proliferation in living systems, Alissa Bilodeau unfolds, in this new series of textile works, a speculative and inventive morphogenesis. Her formal explorations take the shape of biomorphic organisms that appear to have emerged straight from a distant planet. Porous and punctuated with conical structures, these fantastical entities evoke at times geological formations, at others networks of growing fungal hyphae.
