Výstava otevírá fascinující dialog mezi uměním a mediálním světem. Výběr děl ze švýcarské sbírky Annette a Petera Nobelových představuje, jak tištěná média formovala společnost i výtvarnou tvorbu během posledních více než sto let – od raných uměleckých experimentů s tištěnými médii až po reflexe dnešních mediálních praktik. Mimořádně rozsáhlý pohled na fenomén press artu – umění, které pracuje se zprávami, titulky, novinovým tiskem i samotnou rolí médií ve společnosti – představí v takřka 400 dílech řadu předních osobností světového umění.
Významný kurátor Christoph Doswald vybral pro výstavu v DOXu jedinečný soubor prací, které ukazují, že press art není jen uměním, které pracuje s tištěnými médii, ale i důležitou vizuální reakcí na realitu utvářenou zprávami.

We invite you to the opening of the press art exhibition from the collection of Annette and Peter Nobel, HIT BY NEWS 🗞️
The exhibition opens up a fascinating dialogue between the worlds of art and the media. The selection of works from the Swiss collection of Annette and Peter Nobel shows how the press has shaped society and visual art over the past century – from early artistic experiments with print media to reflections on today’s media practices. Featuring nearly four hundred works by an array of prominent international artists, the exhibition presents an exceptionally comprehensive view of the phenomenon of press art – art that deals with news, headlines, newspaper print, and the very role of the media in society.
Renowned curator Christoph Doswald has selected a unique collection of works for the exhibition at DOX, which shows that press art is more than just art that works with print media – it is an important visual response to a reality shaped by the news.
