Gulf State Park is hosting its first ever Venture Out event May 14-17, 2026. This four-day festival will feature a variety of outdoor-focused activities, workshops, & tours throughout the park and along the Backcountry Trail. The family-friendly event is a collaboration between Gulf State Park, the Gulf Coast Eco-Center, Valor Hospitality, the City of Gulf Shores, and the City of Orange Beach. As part of this first time event, I will be directing & organizing a Plein Air Painting Art Exhibition, highlighting the beautiful landscapes of our local Gulf State Park. Fifteen invited artists from the Gulf Coast area will be painting live & on location throughout the Park from Thursday, May 14th through Sunday morning, May 17th.
On Sunday, May 17th, we will be wrapping up the Venture Out Event with an Art Show/Showcase which will display all of the artwork the artists have painted throughout the Park during the week. You are bound to be captivated by their work knowing each painting was completed on location throughout the park.
The Art Show will be open for viewing on Sunday, May 17th, in the Gulf View Ballroom in the Lodge of the Gulf State Park from 1-5pm. We will have live music, cash bar & apps. This event is open to the public. Mark your calendars now to join us. It's going to be an incredible showcase of talent & beauty from a very talented group of Gulf Coast artists.
