Experience world-class talent up close in an intimate, speakeasy setting. Hosted by internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Michael Fields Jr., Velvet Nights offers an unforgettable night of soulful sound and grooves.

ABOUT NATHAN MITCHELL:
Nathan Mitchell is an accomplished American contemporary jazz and soul composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, educator, and humanitarian. A Grammy-nominated artist, three-time NAACP Image Award nominee, and Billboard-charting performer, Mitchell has earned 10 Top 30 Billboard hits, including three No. 1 singles. Known for his electric showmanship, unique musicality, and infectious energy, he has become one of the most respected “musical storytellers” in contemporary jazz.
Nathan first made his national debut in 2017 with the release of Smooth Groove. The project produced two successful singles, “Inspiration,” which reached No. 22 on the Billboard charts, and “Smooth Groove,” which climbed to No. 20. His sophomore release, Soulmate, earned him his first NAACP Image Award nomination in 2020. The album’s hit single, “Swing City,” surpassed one million Spotify streams within its first year and achieved major chart success, reaching No. 7 on both the Billboard and Smooth Jazz Network charts, as well as No. 1 on the Mediabase Smooth Jazz charts.
In 2021, Mitchell received his second NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Jazz Album for Donny, Duke, & Wonder, a creatively inspired release recorded during the global pandemic. The following year, his album Love Languages earned him a third NAACP Image Award nomination in the same category.
Nathan’s career reached new heights following his standout “Rising Star” performance at the 2023 Seabreeze Jazz Festival in Panama City, Florida. The performance captivated audiences and festival organizers alike, quickly establishing him as a rising force in contemporary jazz. Nationally syndicated talk show host Sherri Shepherd, who attended the festival, later featured Nathan on Sherri, praising his talent and performance.
Currently signed to Trippin 'N' Rhythm Records, Mitchell scored another No. 1 Billboard hit with “100% Cotton” from his debut label release, It’s My Time. Written as a tribute to his cousin, the song also serves to raise awareness for kidney health and kidney disease.
