It's new, delicious, and hip, and it's vegan friendly--the long awaited Curry Up Now will open by June with its Indian street food and fusion cuisine. Billing itself as "Indian Born, California Raised," this is the fast-casual chain's first Alabama location. Let's meet up for dinner there and welcome them to Birmingham. Signature Vegan Menu Items:
*Hella Vegan Burrito: Samosas, chana masala, turmeric rice, pickled onions, and chutneys wrapped in a flour tortilla.
*Hella Vegan Bowl: A deconstructed version of the burrito featuring chana masala, samosa, rice, and chutneys.
*Peace.Love.Vegan Bowl: Vegan chick'n, turmeric rice, and homestyle daal or chana masala.
*Vegan Tandoori Sandwich: Vegan chick'n, tandoori marinade, and bombay dust aioli.
*Sides & Snacks: Samosas, aloo gobi, and various chutneys.
*Guac Sev Puri: Crisp papdi chips topped with guacamole.
Curry Up Now was started by a husband and wife in a food truck nearly two decades ago out west. With a lot of work and a commitment to a vegan-friendly menu, they have managed to open more than a dozen locations, with Alabama being their sixth state.
