We invite you to a delightful weaving workshop in the cozy space of Flóð & Fjara in Reykjavík. Over the course of four hours, you’ll dive into the art of weaving and create your very own decorative tapestry!
Meet Your Instructor:
The workshop will be led by Lena Marczyńska, a skilled product designer with a growing passion for textiles and weaving. Lena’s woven creations are known for their refined play with vibrant colors and the harmonious blending of traditional patterns with modern design.
What You’ll Learn:
During the workshop, we’ll work with weaving frames and cover:
How to prepare the warp and take your first weaving steps.
The tools required for weaving.
Techniques for threading the weft on two types of tools
Selecting materials for different types of weaves.
Starting and finishing the weft seamlessly.
At least six foundational weaves and their endless variations.
Creative finishing touches like fringes and other.
Participants can work on their unique designs or choose from our ready-made templates. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with:
A completed tapestry ready to hang on your wall.
A weaving frame and a set of tools to take home.
A wealth of weaving techniques and ideas for your next projects!
