Following the enormous success of D-Day 80 - 6 June 2024, in which Blaisdon commemorated the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings through the lighting of its beacon and two Lamp Lights of Peace, we are now focusing our efforts on the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of VE Day which marked the end of the war in Europe and WWII as a whole on 8th May 1945.On Thursday 8 May 2025 we will once again hold an evening Memorial Service at the Blaisdon War Memorial, then light the Blaisdon Beacon and Lamp Lights of Peace at 9.30pm. That morning we will raise a unique VE Day flag at 9am and ring out the bells at St Michaels & All Angels.
Join us in both the Village Hall and high on the hill opposite the church, for a party to celebrate this momentous, historic day.
