Variations of Transformation
Hear the world premiere of Variations of Transformation, a piano duet described as "classical meets progressive rock," co-composed by W. Paul Pulsipher and Heather Niemi Savage. Both experienced composers and pianists with degrees in composition, they will also be presenting their own solo work and music by other living composers.
Heather Niemi Savage earned her Master's degree in music composition from at Aapalachian State University, where she is currently an adjunct prpfessor. She is also the accompanist for St. luke's UMC in Hickory, the Swannanoa Vallley Commujity Chorus, and for area high schools. Her compositions have been performed at new music festivals throughout the US, and her piece Daughter of the Stars won 2nd place in the 2020 American Prize for Composition (pops/light music division.) www.heatherniemisavage.com
Paul Pulsipher graduated from the Southern Utah University with a degree in commercial music and now lives in Nashville where he runs a recording studio. His music is published by Deseret Books and can also be found on Sheet Music Plus. www.pulsipherproductions.com
