A Family-Friendly Scavenger hunt for all ages!
This event is inspired by Easter Egg Hunts, but without the connotations that come with the activity. To remain inclusive, attendees are invited to find Painted Rocks! They will be painted bright colors to ensure that they are easily identified.
Painted Rocks can be traded in throughout the hour for prizes. Some prizes will require more rocks than others, so keep this in mind while gathering. Keep an eye out for the golden rock - this will be intentionally difficult to find since there will only be one!
The levels of difficulty will vary to ensure that all participants are enjoying the event. Some will be more accessible than others. If you see a rock that you cannot get to, don't hesitate to ask for help.
Most rocks will be placed in a designated area, but a few will be scattered throughout the park as well. Be sure to check trails and picnic areas too!
It is recommended to bring a small bag to carry your rocks in. Plastic grocery bags will be provided for those that need it.
A map of the boundaries of these hides will be provided the day of.
VAP endeavors to choose venues that are accessible and have public restrooms. Consider bringing camping chairs and/or picnic blankets in case we need extra seating.
Don't have kids, but still want to attend? No problem. You're absolutely welcome!
