VANITAS: A Terracotta Memento Mori Workshop with Amelia Butcher

Join Amelia in making your own terracotta memento mori sculpture, inspired by the history of vanitas still-life paintings. Try out bisque molds, texture tools and paper clay. Learn sculpting tips and tricks - think kids’ art class but for adults. Play-based, relaxed artmaking and exploration. Use your hands and some magic dirt to think through themes of mortality, renewal, allegory and sensuality. Get your hands in clay and let’s talk about death :) No clay experience necessary, all abilities welcome! Your project will be fired after the workshop and available for pickup at the Mergatroid Building.
