About this Event
This workshop invites participants to experience, visualize and create an artistic expression of their body as a garden. With Katalina as your guide, you will connect with the body through artistic processes and create a beautiful work of art that you can bring home. You will be encouraged to use art as an embodiment practice: a tool to developing self-awareness and to connecting with the world around us.
Materials will be provided, inculding a body-sized art surface, tempera, charcoal, and collage materials. You are welcome to bring any flowers and plants that have significance for you!
Your host is Katalina Guerrero, a Mexican-Canadian, Vancouver based artist with multi cultural roots. As a third generation artist, Kati's first artistic explorations were guided by her father and family, as by exposure to the talented Indigenous artisans of Mexico. Her formal training includes a Textile Arts Diploma, a BFA from ECUAD and a Diploma in Art Therapy from VATI.
