Doug Ohman will make a presentation on Vanishing Landmarks in MN. Doug Ohman is a popular speaker, historian, and great storyteller. He is also an expert photographer with deep roots in Minnesota. Living in New Hope, Minnesota, Doug has spent the last 30 years uncovering and bringing Minnesota history to life. Well known for his Minnesota Byways Series of 6 books, Doug will tell the real stories behind the pictures and make the photos come to life for his listeners with humor and insight. The topic is Vanishing Landmarks. Explore the back roads and small towns and hear the stories and history of Minnesota through historic buildings that are quickly disappearing. Doug will share his experiences visiting many of these sites from Minnesota's oldest Courthouse to the last Civil War recruiting station. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.
