Are you into art, illustration and fashion and would you like to pursue this in the future? Would you like some new skills and new work to add to your portfolio?! Then join Maryam Adam (Graphic Designer and Illustrator) and Memunatu Barrie (Textile Print and Fashion Designer) at the East Summer School 2024 for a 2-day Drawing and Illustrative/Fashion print design workshop!
This is a 2-part Illustrative/Fashion print design workshop where you can expect an insight into teacher at University and College.
These workshops are designed to reveal the secret behind how to create your own artistic identity and what it really means to create visual stories. You will not only expand your drawing technique and technical design skillset in the immediate sense. But also gain various and essential theoretical and conceptual design skills- such as an insight in how to gather quality design research which will enrich your creative projects moving forward into FE.
Expect to redefine what it means to be creative, how you would like to take that forward and to meet lots of new likeminded people…and of course, to have lots of fun!
What is EAST Summer School?
East Summer School is at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and offers FREE interactive workshops. This is exclusively for young minds aged 12 – 17 years old who are living or going to school in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, or Waltham Forest. Our programme takes place from 29 July until 2 August only. You can take a look at the full summer scheudle by checking out our collection page. From fashion textiles, skateboarding, dance, computer game design or creating your own mixtape our programme is suited for all.
EAST Summer School is delivered by East Education, a cross-organisational effort between LLDC and our world-leading East Bank partners; BBC, UCL, UAL's London College of Fashion, V&A and Sadler's Wells. The programme also features collaborations from other incredible local partners.
How can I sign up?
To sign up to one of our incredible FREE courses you will need to register your interest before Friday 12th July or you might miss out! It's important to note, that we give prioitoty to young people living or studying in Newham, Hackney, Waltham Forest & Tower Hamlets, as part of our efforts to provide residents access to a wide range of oppertunities and possibilities laying on thier doorstep.
NOTE FOR REGISTRATION:
When you book on to a course, you're experessing your interest rather than reserving a spot. You can expect a email from us on 19th July with instructions on how to join if you're selected.
Please note, that each person can only book one course to ensure that everyone has a chance to expereince summer school. So, make sure you tripple check your choice before applying.
Booking Terms and Conditions for East Summer School:
- Missing or inaccurate information will delay the processing of your application so please complete the form with as much information and care as possible.
- Duplicates - If you fill out the form two or more times we will assume that the latest version is the most accurate and the first form will be deleted.
- If a course says High Demand that means that we have received a high volume of interest for that course and it is less likely that you will get a place
- Incomplete forms without parent/guardian consent will not be processed.
