About this Event
What's happening?
Wonders of the Salish Sea is a series of talks by local scientists, researchers, journalists and other ocean enthusiasts.
The projects website can be found here: https://wondersofthesalishsea.com/
The talks are screened over Zoom and happen on 4 evenings of March and April. We will have a screening party at the Diving Locker for the April 13th talks:
- Sea Stars of the Salish Sea by Philip Lambert
- Feeding the People, Caring for the Land: Indigenous Food Systems of the Salish Sea by Jared Qwustenuxun Williams
Is it free?
The talks are by donation with recommended amount for the full series being $30. You can attend our screening party and watch the other talks virtually. Prorated amount for just April 13th would be $7.50. We will not be accepting payments or cash on the night.
Please donate in your own time prior to the event using the Wonders of the Salish Sea webinar event. The money covers running costs for the volunteer run organisation to provide these amazing talk series every year.
If for any reason (we will not ask), you are under financial stress and unable to afford the talks please get in touch with us and we will do our best to ensure you do not miss out.
Food or drinks allowed?
Yes. You can bring non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
Is this the only screening?
We also have a planned joined screening for the March 23rd talks, details of this screening can be found on our discord server as we are more restricted for attendance numbers.
