Nicolas Cage’s most gloriously deranged turn, VAMPIRE’S KISS follows Peter, a preening New York literary agent whose fling with a woman (Jennifer Beals) leaves him convinced he’s becoming a vampire. What follows is a delirious descent: tormenting his secretary (Maria Conchita Alonso), wreaking havoc in the streets with dime-store fangs, and devouring live cockroaches. Cage pulls from the silent era’s most exaggerated gestures and then pushes further, giving us an inspired alphabet recital along the way
