I'll post all of this info in separate themed posts between now and April 26th, but wanted to get as much basic info out as possible right now, since we're a bit late to the info train for this one.
What is it?
- a continuous, 24 hour multi-sport race, including tandem kayaking, mountain biking, trekking, and orienting.
- all human powered, no digital aids (no GPS, no cell phones, no e-bikes, etc.)
- racers will navigate the course using only the provided maps and a compass
Where will it be located?
- the race will take place in and around the Saint John/Quispamsis/Rothesay region of Southeast New Brunswick
What size teams?
- teams of either 2 or 4 racers (tandem kayaks are provided)
- if you have a team of 3, get in touch with Darren and we'll see what we can work out with respect to finding a single kayak to use
What is the cost?
- $250/person
(we're sorting out payment options right now)
- space will be limited, we have guaranteed access to only a limited number of kayaks (if you have your own tandem sea kayak, get in touch, and we'll work something out)
Gear requirements?
- We provide:
tandem kayaks
all required maps
race support and volunteers
- You provide:
whatever else you need to make it through 24 hours of adventure
** a detailed gear requirement list (provided, required, recommended) will be provided in the coming days

For the less experienced?
- because we're hosting a race in the Saint John region for the first time in a while, we're going to offer some "help" for folks who aren't adventure race regulars
- with the help of some of our sponsors, we're going to offer at least one (possibly two) kayak clinics leading up to the race, a chance for newer or less experienced kayakers to come get some tandem paddling time on the river including basic technique, safety, and rescues.
(Once I get it set up, I'll post registration links to this group and the website)
- we're also going to offer a basic navigation clinic (some map and compass basics).. the current plan is to offer this around the same time as the ONB event in Rockwood Park (date TBD)
