Come run through history and retrace the footsteps of the nation’s first president, George Washington, and the Continental Army at Valley Forge. We’ll cruise past the log cabins that once housed a dozen soldiers each and check out the reconstructed Muhlenberg Brigade Huts, bringing the Revolutionary War to life with every stride. One of the highlights of the route is Washington’s Headquarters, the modest stone building where Washington and his top officers lived and planned during the harsh winter encampment. We’ll start at the Betzwood Trail parking lot, cross the Sullivan Bridge, and make our way into Valley Forge National Historical Park. The run features a scenic paved loop through the park with rolling hills, wide-open views, and a good chance of wind—because history didn’t come easy either. The loop itself is about five miles, with the total distance landing around 7 miles.
And because every great adventure deserves a proper finish, we’ll head to Bald Birds Brewing Company afterward for a well-earned beer. I’ll also be bringing authentic PA tomato pie from Corropolese, because carbs taste better when they’re historic.
Run the miles. Feel the history. Stay for the beer. 🇺🇸🍺
